Summary:

This role is responsible for supporting the business strategy for the customer online platforms. Individuals in the Product Specialist role are responsible to collect, analyze, develop, document, communicate business requirements, and support user acceptance testing to achieve business goals. Product Specialist continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and effectively manage customer expectations. They also display innovation in identifying, proposing, and overseeing the execution of business solutions. Through adaptable communication skills and the ability to translate between technical and business language, they work collaboratively, negotiating requirements across multiple groups. They must have a working knowledge of the product that they support and should be equally aligned with the IT department. Strong leadership, relationship management, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills are also required. Product Specialist work with business partners within one or more business processes to align technology solutions with business strategies. They support one or more moderately to highly complex business processes. They serve as a team member.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Conducts data gathering and analysis to understand business strategy requirements

Contributes to the business short-and long-term planning sessions to ensure understanding of business goals and direction.

Communicates business requirements and functional specifications for the implementation of business solutions

Participates in Ad-Hoc Testing and Validates Product features and functions

Supports the Product Owner with prioritizing the product backlog.

Writes user stories for new functionality and ensures new functionality meets the acceptance criteria

Works with Product Owners to identify dependencies across teams

Works with development to clarify user story acceptance criteria during a sprint

Complies with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations

Performs related duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Normally requires broad training in fields such as business administration, sales, marketing, organizational development, computer sciences, or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year Bachelor’s Degree Program

Typically requires 5+ years’ of relevant technical or business work experience

Requires experience/in-depth knowledge of business operations and systems requirements processes

Minimum 5 years relevant technical or business work experience

Ability to work collaboratively within a team/group setting and work in a face paced agile environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong problem solving and analytical skills

3+ years of relevant Business Analyst, or Beta Analyst experience in an Agile software product development environment

Experience in a role with strong requirements elicitation (Business Analyst, Technical Product Manager, consultant, etc.), and proven writing skills including the ability to write concisely and clearly for different audiences

Experience with Agile backlog/project management tool

Experience with JIRA and Confluence is a plus

Ability to clearly and concisely gather, analyzes, prioritize and document information

Ability to translate business and technical requirements into the form of User Stories

Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, with internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels

Experience with user-acceptance testing

Working knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution business

Demonstrated ability to interpret customer servicing requirements to develop customer approach based on available solutions

Excellent organizational skills high detail-orientation and strong interpersonal skills required to coordinate information among multiple internal groups

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project, Visio)
