Job description

Under the general supervision of Neff Automation Product Sales Manager, assumes responsibility for technical support of the product line within the assigned Neff sales territories.

  • Directly reports to Product Sales Manager.
  • This position is non-supervisory.
  • Work and communicate professionally with all staff, customers, and vendors.
Duties And Responsibilities

Essential Functions
  • Support all Technical Sales Representatives and their sales efforts.
  • Act as an application resource for products and services.
  • Distribute and follow up on all sales leads in a timely manner.
  • Perform product demonstrations for customers.
  • Develop and execute a sales plan and strategy to grow sales and market share within the sales territory.
  • Proactively participate in the development of a marketing strategy for the sales territory.
  • Seek and develop new markets for the product line.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a passenger vehicle without restrictions to meet position requirements.
WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be engaged off‑site making contact with customers and working within the assigned sales territory. The employee will also be in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

This position requires frequent travel to customer locations; therefore, the incumbent must possess a valid driver’s license. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in climate‑controlled settings but may be exposed to wet and/or humid, hot and/or cold conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but ear protection is provided when needed.

Education And Experience
  • An associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with strong demonstrated mechanical/technical aptitude and/or the technical ability to engineer solutions, design systems, and support product with mechanical design capability.
  • Interpersonal abilities needed to work closely with all internal and external customers and Neff Group resources.
  • Ability to maintain an organized workflow and drive efficiencies and continuous process improvements.
  • Ability to manage and control costs associated with value‑add activities.
  • Pneumatic and electrical experience preferred.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and product information in English.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to complete mathematical equations to determine quantity, price and discounts.
  • Evaluate and understand business data and metrics as required.
REASONING ABILITY
  • The interpersonal skills needed to effectively communicate policies, procedures, and practices to managers/supervisors and employees.
  • Analytical ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical ability to engineer solutions and assist with the design of systems to meet customer needs.
Other Skills And Abilities
  • The analytical and creative ability to contribute to the development and evaluation of branch standards, goals, and objectives to prepare reports and interpret policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills needed to develop strategic (problem) solutions and coordinate project work and develop and prepare documentation/reports.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Ability to initiate, maintain, and develop business relationships.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, or hear. The employee is required to use hands to touch, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
