The Production Engineering Organization is seeking Engineers to support commercial derivative airplane programs in San Antonio. We are looking for proactive individuals who can make quick engineering decisions and who want go beyond their desk and sit the factory for hands on engineering. This position requires excellent communication and collaboration skills, partnering closely with production personnel.
Must be available for all shifts - 4th shift rotating (1st, 2nd and 3rd) as well as weekend or daily overtime.
This position involves daily exposure to factory environment which includes stairs, trip hazards, high noise areas, chemical hazards (breathing and handling), and entering airplanes during their many stages of build.
Engineering degree in any of the following majors: Aeronautical Engineering; Aerospace Engineering; Computer Engineering; Electrical Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology.
5+ years of experience with the design of structural and electrical rework/repairs to restore the aircraft or system to original design capability.
Previous Commercial Material Review Board Experience, Company or Airlines.
Experienced in reading/creating Engineering drawings, specifications, processes and design manuals.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience with any of the following: avionics systems troubleshooting, wire bundle installations, and aircraft electrical systems troubleshooting.
Experienced in researching engineering designs in order to develop defect solutions to product/ process issues for production or simple technical in-service issues.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience of assisting with analyses, root cause analysis and drafting dispositions for non-conformances.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience collecting, researching, and evaluating issues for product/process improvement opportunities that may include recurrent product issues.
Materials Review Board (MRB)/ Universal Product Review (UPR) approval authority certification.
Executive interior installation/design experience.
Modification & Repair experience on wide body aircraft.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
