Job description

Product & Quality Engineering: Building aerospace. Developing the people who engineer it. Because great engineers aren't simply hired. They're developed.

We’re looking for people with curiosity, integrity, attention to detail, and a passion for continuous improvement. Experience is valuable, but it isn’t everything. We can teach engineering systems, aerospace requirements, and technical processes. What we can’t teach is the mindset to care, learn, improve, and take ownership.

If you’re the kind of person who notices small details others miss, naturally looks for more efficient ways to do things, and takes pride in doing quality work, we encourage you to apply.

Maybe you’ve reorganized a workspace because it made more sense. Maybe you’ve built a better spreadsheet because there had to be a smarter way. Maybe you’ve caught a mistake simply because something didn’t look right. If that sounds familiar, you’re exactly the kind of person we’re looking for.

You don’t need to have every technical skill on day one. We’ll provide the training, mentorship, and opportunities to help you build the engineering knowledge and technical skills needed to succeed.

PURPOSE:

The Product Quality Technician supports the successful implementation of engineering changes, manufacturing process improvements, and First Article Inspection (AS9102) activities across commercial and military aerospace production programs.

Working alongside some of the industry's most experienced Product, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineers, this position supports the successful implementation of product and process changes through First Article Inspection (AS9102), quality documentation, and cross-functional collaboration while maintaining compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly alongside senior engineering professionals, learning firsthand from industry leaders while supporting engineering changes, First Article Inspection (AS9102), manufacturing process improvements, and other critical quality engineering initiatives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Support AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) activities associated with engineering revisions, manufacturing process changes, tooling modifications, and customer requirement changes.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain First Article Inspection documentation and supporting quality records.
  • Assist Product Quality Engineers with implementation of engineering and manufacturing process changes across existing production programs.
  • Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities by preparing documentation, coordinating supporting information, and assisting with customer concession requests.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and manufacturing documentation to ensure quality documentation accurately reflects product requirements.
  • Coordinate with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Inspection, and Operations to facilitate implementation of engineering and process changes.
  • Track engineering and manufacturing process changes to ensure required quality documentation is completed prior to production implementation.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze manufacturing and quality data to support engineering investigations, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain quality documentation and records in accordance with internal quality system requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving manufacturing quality, documentation, and process effectiveness.
  • Understand, follow, and comply with all company and departmental safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the objectives of the Product Engineering and Quality Engineering teams.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately review and maintain technical documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and quality documentation.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, Inspection, and Operations.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a cross-functional engineering team.Must be able to work in both office and manufacturing environments; routine time on the production floor is expected.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions such as keyboarding. Occasional lifting of materials up to approximately 35 pounds.
  • Must comply with all company and departmental safety policies and procedures.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports directly to the Head of Product & Quality Engineering.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Quality, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Previous experience in aerospace, manufacturing, engineering, or quality is beneficial but not required.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, blueprint interpretation, dimensional inspection practices, AS9100, AS9102, or other regulated manufacturing environments is preferred but not required.
  • Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills required.

If you’re looking for more than a job, if you’re looking to build a career in aerospace engineering and quality while learning from industry leaders, we’d love to hear from you.

Equal Opportunity Statement:

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
