Laars Heating Systems is seeking a Product Quality Engineer who will drive measurable improvements in product quality and process performance across our boiler and water heater manufacturing operation. This role uses data analysis, structured problem-solving (8D, A3, DMAIC, Six Sigma), and a proactive quality mindset to identify root causes and eliminate defects at the source.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; related fields considered with equivalent experience.
• 3–7 years in quality/manufacturing engineering or supplier quality.
• Experience with structured problem solving (8D, A3, 5-Why, DMAIC).
• Working knowledge of SPC, gauge R&R, and process capability studies.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and industry codes (ASME/UL) is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Analyze quality, scrap, rework, and warranty data to identify trends and costs of poor quality.
• Lead root cause analyses and structured problem-solving for internal nonconformances, field failures, and customer complaints.
• Develop and maintain control plans, PFMEAs, and process control methods to stabilize and improve processes.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Production to design and validate process improvements and poka-yoke concepts.
• Drive CAPA plans through to closure and qualify supplier processes.
• Lead supplier quality activities, including SCARs, supplier audits, and PPAP/first article processes.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Service to support customer quality initiatives and audits.
• Maintain quality documentation and report metrics to leadership.
