Job summary

Laars Heating Systems, a US-based boiler and water heater leader, seeks a Product Quality Engineer to drive improvements across manufacturing. You will analyze quality data, lead root cause investigations, and strengthen upstream processes to reduce scrap and warranty costs.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Design, Production, Procurement, Service and suppliers, deploying tools like 8D, A3, DMAIC, and SPC to prevent defects and improve delivery performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; equivalent combination may be considered.
• 3–7 years in quality/manufacturing engineering or supplier quality role.
• Experience applying structured root cause and problem-solving methods (8D, A3, 5-Why, DMAIC, Six Sigma).
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems; boiler/water heater industry codes are a plus.
• Strong data analysis skills, Excel proficiency, and comfort with quality software.

Responsibilities

• Analyze quality, scrap, rework, and warranty data to identify trends and COPQ.
• Lead root cause analysis for internal nonconformances, field failures, and customer complaints.
• Develop and maintain control plans, PFMEAs, and process capability studies.
• Collaborate on process improvements, error-proofing, and inspection methods.
• Drive CAPA plans to closure and prevent recurrence.
• Support supplier quality activities and supplier audits.
