Job description

Overview

This is a specialized position responsible for Product Planning of next‑generation AMD Adaptive and Embedded Computing products, with a focus on DSP and RF technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive product planning for FPGAs, Adaptive SoCs, Embedded x86 products, and semi‑custom products with a focus on DSP, RF, and AI/ML‑based capabilities.
  • Translate system‑level signal chain and compute requirements into product definitions and IP requirements, including RF converters, DSP, and AI/ML integration.
  • Collaborate with architecture, IP, and engineering teams to define performance, functionality, and solutions that align with market requirements and product capabilities.
  • Align product roadmap decisions with IP development and solution requirements.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment across product planning, architecture, and execution teams.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform product strategy and roadmap decisions.
The Person

A successful candidate is one who can independently drive technical decisions and is accountable for the accuracy, reliability, and completeness of results critical to product success.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical depth in DSP, RF, AI/ML, and/or mixed‑signal systems, with the ability to translate system‑level requirements into structured product and IP definitions.

The candidate must operate effectively across cross‑functional teams, influencing architecture, engineering, and business stakeholders to drive alignment and clarity in product definition.

Comfort with ambiguity: the candidate should excel at creating structure and driving decisions when inputs are ambiguous or conflicting.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience in hardware design, product planning/management, customer support, or technical marketing.
  • Semiconductor industry experience, including architecture or system design for FPGA, ASIC, or Adaptive SoC‑based systems, with exposure to customer engagements in one or more of the following:
    • Digital signal processing (DSP)
    • RF systems and signal chain design
    • AI/ML hardware acceleration
    • Mixed‑signal or data converter architectures
  • Experience working across architecture, design, and product teams in a semiconductor environment.
  • Understanding of product definition, roadmap planning, and customer‑driven requirements.
  • Experience in application domains such as wireless infrastructure, aerospace and defense, test and measurement, or data center systems is a plus.
  • Demonstrated strategic business acumen with the ability to build compelling business cases, contribute to financial models, and justify investment decisions.
  • Familiarity with heterogeneous integration and chiplet‑based architectures is a plus.
