ADVANCE YOUR CAREER. ADVANCE THE WORLD.

At AMD, we believe technology can change lives for the better. It can heal us, entertain us, and make us more connected, productive, and understanding of the world around us. And we’re looking for talent who feel the same: people who want to leave the planet better than they found it, those who don’t shy away from humanity’s challenges but are determined to help solve them.

AMD is powering the next generation of supercomputing, high-performance computing, cloud, and AI. Whether you’re designing next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, or creating go-to-market plans, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger — technology that moves the world forward.

THE ROLE

This role helps shape the future of AMD's Adaptive Computing portfolio through product planning, strategy, and roadmap development for next-generation FPGA and Adaptive SoC platforms.

Working across product planning, architecture, engineering, marketing, and applications teams, you will translate customer needs, market opportunities, and technology trends into product requirements, roadmap decisions, and future product capabilities.

THE PERSON

A successful candidate can independently drive strategic and technical decisions while delivering results that have a meaningful impact on product success.

The ideal candidate combines strong FPGA and adaptive computing expertise with business acumen, customer awareness, and market insight. They are comfortable working across engineering and business teams, influencing stakeholders, and bringing clarity to ambiguous situations to help define future AMD products and roadmap direction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive product planning and strategy for next-generation FPGA and Adaptive SoC product families
  • Drive planning activities for future devices and product families, including prioritization, customer validation, and communication of roadmap direction across the organization
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain product plans from concept through production, working across product planning, architecture, engineering, marketing, and applications teams
  • Gather customer, market, and business requirements and translate them into comprehensive product requirements and product definitions
  • Contribute to product strategy, business cases, and investment decisions through understanding and interpreting market, customer, and competitive analysis
  • Represent Product Planning in planning forums, product reviews, and cross-functional decision-making processes
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer requirements are reflected in product roadmaps and product definitions

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant hardware design, product planning/management, technical marketing, applications engineering, or customer-facing experience
  • Semiconductor industry experience involving FPGA, Adaptive SoC, ASIC, ASSP, or processor-based products
  • Strong understanding of FPGA architectures, FPGA development methodologies, and adaptive computing solutions
  • Experience defining products, roadmaps, or product requirements for semiconductor devices or systems
  • Experience engaging directly with customers and translating customer requirements into product capabilities
  • Experience working across architecture, engineering, marketing, and business teams in a semiconductor environment
  • Understanding of product lifecycle management, product positioning, roadmap planning, and investment prioritization
  • Demonstrated strategic business acumen with the ability to build compelling business cases, contribute to financial models, and justify investment decisions
  • Experience in application domains such as communications, aerospace and defense, industrial, automotive, data center, embedded, or AI acceleration is a plus

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in computer engineering or computer science or electrical engineering, or comparable disciplines
