Job summary

Gesa Credit Union is seeking a Product Owner I to manage the technical lifecycle of assigned products, coordinate development efforts, document requirements, and build roadmaps to meet business objectives. You will work with internal teams and vendors to deliver new products and enhance existing ones, guiding lifecycle through Agile practices.

Qualifications

Minimum of one (1) year of product ownership/management experience in an Agile Environment. Note at least three (3) years of business management experience may be substituted in lieu of product owner experience.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field or equivalent of specialized courses, training, and/or related experience may be substituted
High School diploma required
Knowledge of the Financial Industry, products, and services
Credit Union experience preferred
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I), or equivalent foundational level certification. (Preferred)

Responsibilities

Understand business and end-user needs; prioritize features to meet those needs.
Participate in Agile ceremonies to align work with objectives and user needs.
Facilitate stakeholder reviews and planning, and maintain transparent communication.
Negotiate deliverables based on team capacity and evolving priorities.
Develop rolling-wave product roadmaps with business owners for alignment.
Define and track key product success metrics to inform prioritization.
Assess product strengths/weaknesses and suggest improvements.
Analyze end-user feedback and operational metrics to identify needs.
Manage one or more product backlogs, ensuring readiness 1–2 weeks ahead.
Document user stories from the user perspective; define features and epics.
Gather technical requirements to ensure runway, reduce debt, and maintain stability.
Assist with vendor contracts and ensure regulatory/security compliance.
Coordinate upgrades and maintain control procedures.
