Job description

Hybrid in Union Square (1-2 days per week). No C2C accepted. Large NYC energy company is seeking a Product Owner to support the delivery of analytics-driven business capabilities across Customer Operations. The Product Owner will lead an Agile development pod responsible for translating business needs and analytics opportunities into actionable product requirements and delivered capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering analytics use cases and working closely with business and technical teams to turn data into practical operational solutions. Experience supporting Customer Service or Customer Operations organizations is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Analytics Delivery

• Serve as Product Owner for an Agile development pod delivering analytics-enabled capabilities for Customer Operations.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges, opportunities, and desired outcomes.
• Translate business needs into clear product requirements, features, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, customer impact, technical dependencies, and delivery priorities.
• Develop and maintain a product roadmap for assigned analytics use cases.
• Work closely with data, analytics, engineering, and technology teams to move use cases from concept through delivery.
• Ensure delivered solutions address the intended business problem and provide measurable operational value.
• Support prioritization and tradeoff decisions throughout the development lifecycle.

Customer Operations & Business Partnership

• Partner with stakeholders across Customer Operations, including Credit & Collections, Contact Center, and Back Office functions.
• Develop a strong understanding of business processes, customer journeys, and operational workflows.
• Serve as the connection point between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
• Gather and incorporate stakeholder feedback throughout development.
• Help identify opportunities where analytics and data can improve customer service, operational efficiency, decision‑making, or business outcomes.

Data & Analytics

• Develop a working understanding of the datasets used to support Customer Operations analytics.
• Learn and leverage data available within Oracle CC&B, the core Customer Operations platform.
• Partner with data and analytics teams to understand data availability, quality, relationships, and limitations.
• Help identify data requirements and dependencies for new analytics use cases.
• Support integration of additional enterprise and niche data sources as the analytics environment expands.
• Translate analytical concepts and business objectives into practical product requirements that development teams can execute.

Agile Delivery

• Lead and participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand‑ups, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
• Ensure the development pod has clear requirements, priorities, and acceptance criteria.
• Remove or elevate delivery blockers and manage dependencies across teams.
• Review completed functionality and ensure it meets defined business requirements.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing and stakeholder feedback.
• Monitor delivery progress and communicate status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

• Use stakeholder feedback, analytics, and delivery results to identify opportunities for product and process improvement.
• Help establish repeatable approaches for delivering analytics use cases across Customer Operations.
• Support the evolution of analytics capabilities as new datasets, systems, and business use cases are introduced.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Product Owner, or similar role.
• Demonstrated experience delivering analytics or data‑driven use cases from requirements through implementation.
• Experience leading or working with an Agile development pod.
• Strong backlog management and requirements‑writing skills.
• Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, epics, and features.
• Strong business‑to‑technology translation skills.
• Experience working with data, analytics, reporting, or business intelligence teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
