Job summary

Dyad, Inc. seeks a focused Product Owner to translate strategy into executable work within agile sprint teams. You will own backlog prioritization, story definitions with precise acceptance criteria, and collaboration across product, engineering, and QA.

You will write clear specs for AI-assisted development, define edge cases, and ensure alignment with business goals while maintaining sprint velocity and high-quality deliveries.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years in a Product Owner, BA, or related product delivery role within software/tech.
• Hands-on SDLC experience translating product decisions into engineering execution.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies—Scrum in particular.
• Proven ability to write high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and specs.
• Strong analytical skills to inform prioritization decisions.
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, or equivalent tools.
• Experience in the insurance technology, financial services, or enterprise SaaS domain is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, CS, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Functional decomposition to define unit of work, edge cases, and information architecture.
• Structured written communication, precise and unambiguous.
• Judgment under ambiguity with fast, clear decisions.
• Collaborative with developers, QA, and Product Managers.
• Detail-oriented and proactive in active sprints.
• Comfortable operating in AI-assisted development environments.
• Demonstrates integrity and results-driven delivery.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize features and epics with Product Manager to maintain a ready backlog for sprint planning.
• Ensure backlog items are sized, described, and sequenced for clarity and planning.
• Re-evaluate backlog priorities based on feedback and strategy shifts.
• Define ready for each backlog item with complete, clear acceptance criteria.
• Write detailed feature descriptions and decompose into sprint-ready stories with edge cases and success criteria.
• Collaborate with Product Manager to translate goals into task-level requirements with metrics.
• Experiment with story templates and definition-of-done standards across the team.
• Embed in sprint teams to answer questions and make scope decisions quickly.
• Coordinate with QA to ensure test coverage reflects scope and acceptance criteria.
• Sign-off on delivered functionality against requirements and participate in UAT.
• Triage defects by scope vs. implementation vs. edge cases and feed improvements upstream.
• Document scope and status in Jira/Confluence as a single source of truth.
• Flag recurring ambiguities and estimation gaps to improve planning.
