Job summary

BCforward is seeking a Product Owner to join our team. The ideal candidate will own backlog and sprint ceremonies, elicit requirements and shape user stories, and coordinate across engineering and QA to deliver valuable software.

You will translate business needs into prioritized work, maintain clear acceptance criteria, and ensure predictable delivery across sprints. Strong communication, accountability, and stakeholder influence without direct authority are essential.

• 3-6 years of experience in business analysis or product-focused roles within agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design business systems from discovery through delivery.
• Develop and maintain understanding of customer needs from business and technical perspectives.
• Capture business requirements and drive through engineering and QA partners.
• Develop, execute, and coordinate testing with clear acceptance criteria and Definition of Done.
• Act as a liaison between business user groups and technical teams, aligning scope and timing.
• Own sprint ceremonies and backlog health, keeping work unblocked and prioritized for upcoming sprints.

• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of customer needs from business and technical perspectives.
• Capture business requirements and see them through implementation with engineering and QA partners.

• Own sprint ceremonies and backlog health, keeping work unblocked and prioritized for upcoming sprints.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• End-to-end sprint and backlog ownership with evidence of predictable delivery and risk management.
• Strong story shaping and requirements quality, including user stories, acceptance criteria, slicing, and dependency mapping.
• Discovery skills that translate into prioritized backlogs with measurable outcomes and success metrics.
• Clear communication and influence across stakeholders without direct authority, including effective sprint ceremonies.
• 3-6 years of relevant business analysis or product-focused experience in agile settings.

Preferred Skills

• Experience coordinating intake, refinement, sprint planning, execution, and release with engineering and QA.
• Background in systems testing and UAT management with traceable acceptance criteria to delivery.
