Job Description

SUMMARY: K12 Tutoring is an exciting startup within Stride’s portfolio, focused on building an innovative educational platform connecting tutors and students. Our goal is to provide high-quality, personalized online tutoring from certified teachers and expand to serve broader educational needs.

We seek a passionate Product Owner to join our team, responsible for refining the product roadmap, supporting cross-functional teams, and delivering solutions that delight users and meet business goals. This role combines strategic vision, user empathy, and analytical skills, bridging business needs, technical possibilities, and user aspirations. The role reports to the Principal Product Manager, K12 Tutoring.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Support the Product Manager in developing and maintaining the product roadmap and backlog, including gathering feedback, prioritizing efforts, and communicating progress.
  • Prioritize features based on impact on users and business.
  • Collaborate across teams to translate product vision into requirements.
  • Create and refine user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog.
  • Partner with Scrum teams to deliver features on time and within budget.
  • Assist in sprint planning, grooming, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Track KPIs and measure product success.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and roadblocks.
  • Gather and analyze user and stakeholder requirements and market data.
  • Define clear, measurable product specifications.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses to maximize value.
  • Advocate for user needs within the team.
  • Collaborate with UX to conduct user research and incorporate feedback.
  • Ensure product decisions are user-centric.
  • Manage post-production defect triage and user acceptance testing.
Qualifications
  • At least 3 years as a Product Owner or Business Analyst.
  • Proficient in eliciting, analyzing, and documenting requirements.
  • Experience leading complex product projects and initiatives.
  • Skilled in gathering user insights and collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and tools like JIRA, Confluence.
  • Proficient with online collaboration tools (O365, Google Docs, Miro, Figma).
  • Ability to travel 5% and pass background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in educational technology or e-commerce development.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $66,379.50 to $170,037.60, based on experience, location, and other factors. Benefits include health, retirement, and paid time off. Bonuses may apply.
