Sun Communities is seeking a Product Owner to lead vision, development, and continuous improvement of the Customer Portal and Sun NetSuite. You will shape the product roadmap, prioritize features, and ensure digital tools deliver measurable value across the resident lifecycle.

In this role you will collaborate with analysts, developers, and UX/UI designers in an Agile environment, translate stakeholder feedback into actionable requirements, and advocate for secure, intuitive portal experiences

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in business, CS, or a related field.
• 5+ years in product ownership/management in digital products.
• 1+ year building customer portals in real estate or property management preferred.
• Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
• Familiarity with web and mobile app development and iOS best practices.
• Excellent requirements gathering, road mapping, and user story creation.
• Strong collaboration to influence cross-functional teams.
• Interpret analytics for product decisions.
• Familiarity with ERP integrations and secure portal logins; AI experience preferred.

The Product Owner leads the vision, development, and continuous improvement of Sun's NetSuite by enhancing digital tools to elevate the customer journey from application through the full resident lifecycle. This individual is responsible for shaping the product roadmap, prioritizing development efforts, and ensuring our digital products deliver measurable value to stakeholders.

Job Duties

• Define, communicate, and prioritize product roadmaps, feature enhancements, and release plans based on customer insights, business goals, stakeholder input, and technology trends. (Essential)
• Gather and translate feedback from residents, business stakeholders, and internal users into actionable product features and requirements. (Essential)
• Work closely with the business analyst and development team in an agile environment to ensure clear requirements and timely delivery of features. (Essential)
• Partner with UX/UI designers to deliver intuitive and elegant digital experiences. (Essential)
• Serve as a subject matter expert and champion for portal functionality and digital resident engagement within the company.
• Monitor usage metrics, user feedback, and market trends to inform ongoing enhancements and innovations.
• Continuously advance the Customer Portal to deliver value, ease of use, and engagement across the resident lifecycle.
• May expand responsibilities to lead additional projects, such as internal team member mobile app or other digital products.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in in Business, Computer Science, or a related field (Required)
• 5 years in of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or related role in digital product development (Required)
• 1 year in building/managing customer portals, especially in the property management or real estate industry (Preferred)
• Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
• Familiarity with web and mobile app development and platform best practices (iOS)
• Excellent skills in requirements gathering, road mapping, user story creation, and agile development
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
• Adept at interpreting analytics and customer feedback to drive product decisions
• Familiarity with integration points between customer portals and ERP or property management systems, preferred
• Understanding of secure portal login experiences, digital payment tools, self-service workflows, and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance user experience, preferred
