Job description

Position Overview

Sigma360 is seeking an experienced, business-minded Product Owner to drive the execution and delivery of key features across our enterprise risk and screening platform. In this role, you will serve as the bridge between business strategy and software execution—translating complex internal stakeholder needs into precise product specifications, managing the product backlog, defining rigorous acceptance criteria, and leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT). You will partner closely with engineering, UX design, and business teams to ensure features deliver immediate value to users. In addition to core product ownership responsibilities, you will initially facilitate sprint ceremonies for your team, acting as a Scrum anchor to keep execution running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stakeholder Management & Discovery: Actively engage with internal stakeholders across Customer Success, Sales, Product Leadership, and Operations (and selectively with external clients) to gather, evaluate, and prioritize functional product requirements.
  • Backlog Ownership & Refinement: Own, prioritize, and continuously refine the team's product backlog, ensuring engineering pods have a clear, actionable pipeline of well-defined work.
  • User Stories & Acceptance Criteria: Break down broad features into structured user stories with detailed, unambiguous acceptance criteria that guide engineering execution and QA testing.
  • UAT & Feature Validation: Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes across release cycles, validating that built software strictly aligns with business requirements and quality standards before production deployment.
  • Agile Pod Facilitation: Facilitate core Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, retrospectives) to start, serving as a functional Scrum Master to keep delivery teams aligned and unblocked.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate daily with UX designers and software engineers to resolve functional questions, address scope edge cases, and manage trade-offs during sprints.
  • Data-Informed Decisions: Utilize basic data literacy (spreadsheets, product usage analytics, report summaries) to monitor feature performance, validate requirements, and inform operational backlog priorities.
Qualifications
  • Product Owner Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Agile Product Manager delivering B2B SaaS software products.
  • Agile Mastery & Process Focus: Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies with practical experience facilitating sprint ceremonies and guiding sprint execution.
  • Requirements Elicitation & UAT Leadership: Proven track record of gathering complex requirements, writing clear user stories with explicit acceptance criteria, and leading UAT end-to-end.
  • Internal Stakeholder Management: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated success aligning cross-functional internal teams behind product decisions.
  • Functional Data Literacy: Proficiency in using spreadsheets, basic analytics, and functional reports to back up business logic and measure delivery success.
Bonus / Nice-to-Have
  • Direct experience interacting with external enterprise client stakeholders during discovery or testing.
  • Technical data skills such as basic SQL, Python, or data analysis tools.
  • Domain background in enterprise risk management, compliance, RegTech, or financial services.
Experience
  • Required: 2–5 years of experience in an Agile software environment with direct responsibility for requirements gathering, user stories, acceptance criteria, and UAT.
  • Nice to Have: Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies; exposure to complex, data-intensive enterprise workflows or compliance tools.
Location

This is a hybrid role based in our NYC office or remote within the United States or Europe, with a preference for East Coast time-zone alignment.

What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary: $100,000–$140,000, commensurate with experience and location
  • Equity participation
  • Opportunity to grow with a fast-scaling, product-led company
  • Collaborative, low-ego culture focused on solving hard problems
  • Flexible work arrangements and generous time-off policies
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and commuter benefits
