Job summary

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in Washington, DC is seeking a Product Associate to help manage the Science Advances APC system, analyze data for budgeting and reporting, and support planning for the Science family of journals. You will work with Editorial, Marketing, and external vendors in a collaborative environment.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 3–5 years of relevant experience in business, technology, or sales, and strong Excel, with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in business, technology, marketing or sales.
• General understanding of academic publishing business models and technologies.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Tableau or Power BI is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to administration of the Science Advances APC system and related communication with authors and vendors.
• Analyze manuscript, payment, and operational data to support budgeting, forecasting, and quarterly performance reporting.
• Contribute to planning and support for the Science family of journals and related products.
• Develop expertise in strategy, technology, journal disciplines, and industry trends.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify insights and opportunities.
• Support cross-functional collaboration with Editorial, Marketing, and other internal teams.
• Engage with departmental priorities and initiatives, including participation in planning meetings, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
