ABOUT THE ROLE
-Product Marketing is a global team of capable, friendly, user-oriented marketers, partnering closely with world-class product and engineering teams.
As the Product Marketing Manager for Japan, you will work closely with our established Japan-based team (including our marketing, sales, and product leadership) to generate customer insights that inform product strategy, lead go-to-market for our suite of products, and create and execute campaigns to drive product growth in the market.
The Product Marketing role is highly cross-functional, partnering closely with Product and Engineering, Sales, Partnerships, and Communications to name a few.
This is an opportunity to work across the entire product lifecycle, from helping shape the product, to driving launch and commercialization, to growing product adoption post-launch in the Japanese market.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the product marketing lead for the company's full product portfolio in Japan, leading the development of go-to-market priorities across sales and marketing to drive business growth.
- Work in close partnership with the established Japan-based team, collaborating extensively with local sales and product leadership to ensure strong market alignment and execution
- Maintain effective coordination with the regional team in Singapore, participating in regional initiatives while representing Japan market perspectives and requirements. Be a subject matter expert in the needs of current and prospective Japanese users through user research, competitive landscape understanding, and deep product understanding.
- Develop, deploy and maintain tailored value propositions and messaging that resonates with local users to be used in creating marketing content, campaigns, and sales collateral in local language.Drive high-quality launches and adoption of products by working closely with a range of cross-functional teams including, but not limited to, product, sales, engineering, marketing, design, communications, and partnerships.
- Partner with regional and global marketing teams to deliver relevant content programs for priority events, integrated marketing campaigns, and ongoing demand generation.
- Monitor key business indicators around product adoption, usage, satisfaction etc. to identify blockers and solutions to optimize our growth funnel in the market.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of experience in B2B technology marketing and/or sales - prior product marketing experience is a plus.
- Focused on results - balancing customer needs and business goals to propose ambitious growth strategies. Excellent communication skills with full professional proficiency in both Japanese and English.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an established local team while maintaining productive relationships with regional stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of the Japanese market and the priorities of businesses looking to drive digital transformation, particularly in the fintech/payments space.
- Good leadership and influencing skills; able to drive cross-functional alignment and progress toward impactful outcomes with limited resources
- This role will require occasional business travel within the region including Tokyo and Singapore.
- Prior experience in financial services or payments is a plus, but not essential.
