Job summary

Jimmy Jazz, Springfield, MO, seeks a Product Manager of Software and Service Solutions to lead product development for additional security-focused software offerings. You will manage customer expectations, coordinate with engineering and management, and guide product launches while staying aligned with strategic goals.

The role requires 4+ years in product management, strong communication, and the ability to travel to visit customers.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Product Management experience, leading software applications (preferably in the security or life safety industry).
  • Experience managing mobile application operation and understanding of product specs, competitors and the security market landscape.
  • Track record of managing all aspects of a product lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, presentations to large and small technical audiences.
  • Experience communicating requirements to engineering teams and business leaders and managing requirements modifications during product development.
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in a business setting.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to create long-term strategic gameplans while addressing day-to-day issues.
  • Adept at working on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to visit customers.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep information confidential.

Responsibilities

  • Manage internal and external customer expectations and communications to reduce risk to the company using effective communication.
  • Communicate with engineering, upper management, and external customers to provide direction, planning, and issue resolution; present weekly product updates and specifications.
  • Develop deep understanding of all DMP products via discussions with product managers and dealer visits to identify gaps and generate growth ideas.
  • Conduct market research involving customers, competitors, employees, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Create buy-in for the product vision with internal and external partners.
  • Prioritize activities based on business and customer impact.
  • Work with Project Manager and cross-functional teams to deliver quality products, training, and support with quick time-to-market; drive product launches and publish launch dates.
  • Evaluate promotional plans to ensure consistency with product strategy and messaging.
  • Observe and adhere to DMP Data Classification Standard.
  • Follow company policies and seek process improvements while meeting customer needs.
  • May train or instruct fellow workers and fill in for others as needed.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage internal and external customer expectations and communications. The primary goal of the Product Manager of Software and Service Solutions will be to successfully build and manage customer relationships, communications, and expectations to reduce risk to the company utilizing effective communication.
  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with engineering, upper management, and external customers. TheProduct Manager of Software and Service Solutions will effectively communicate with team members, internal and external customers to provide clear direction, planning, clarification, guidance, decisions, status, and issue resolution. Success criteria for this position will be submitting and presenting to senior management weekly product updates and detailed specifications.
  • Develops a deep understanding of all DMP products by: working with DMP product managers, dealer visits and discussions to identify and fill product gaps while generating new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth.
  • Personally conducts, and guides team in conducting, market research that includes customers, competitors, employees, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Creates buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners.
  • Prioritizes activities based on business and customer impact.
  • Works closely with the Project Manager and cross-functional teams to deliver quality products, services, training, and support with quick time-to-market. Drives product launches. Sets and publishes launch dates.
  • Evaluates promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with the product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed. Acts as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding.
  • Observes and adheres to DMP Data Classification Standard.
  • Observes company policies. Continuously strives to find processes that create improved efficiency while maintaining conformance to requirements. Acknowledges responsibility to satisfy the customer, reduce cycle time and eliminate waste.
  • May perform related duties or fill in for others in the department or other departments when requested. May train or instruct fellow workers regarding own duties.
