Job summary

Epoch AI is seeking a Product Manager to own the website—the company's primary product—and decide what to build and when it ships. You’ll align researchers, designers, and developers, and own cross-cutting pages like topic pages and navigation.

You’ll report to the COO as an individual contributor, and this fully remote role requires at least 3 hours overlap with Pacific Time. The compensation reflects market rates for senior product management in the US and remote settings.

Qualifications

• Strong product taste: can foresee what users will find clear vs. cluttered.
• Clear writing: briefs, notes and Slack messages are concise and usable.
• Comfort with data, charts and research: interpret visuals quickly.
• Understanding of the audience: policy, journalism, researchers and AI labs.
• Experience shipping web products with design and development teams.
• People skills: manage stakeholder expectations and difficult conversations.
• Organization: track decisions and follow up systematically.
• Ability to travel: participation in annual team retreats.

Responsibilities

• Set goals and specs for new pages or features with researchers and designers.
• Prioritize site-wide initiatives with usability in mind and say no when needed.
• Define shared site standards: layout, filters, charts, and labels.
• Lead projects from goal to launch with cross-functional review.
• Provide design feedback and coordinate with researchers and developers.
• Know the audience through analytics, feedback forms, and interviews.
• Own QA by testing pages before launch to catch issues.
