Job summary

Plymouth Rock Assurance Corporation in Woodbridge, NJ, seeks an Associate Product Manager to assist the Product Manager in managing personal lines products, pricing and competitive position for the Direct division.

You will analyze complex issues, develop recommendations for new rating plans, underwriting rules, and other initiatives; manage projects; mentor analysts; supervise liaison across departments; monitor competitive/regulatory environments.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
• 5 or more years in product management, actuarial, or analytical role.
• 5+ years of experience with relational database tools and concepts.
• Ability to utilize quantitative approaches to generate sound analyses with detail orientation.
• Confidence in ownership of challenging issues and making decisions with limited data.
• Experience developing and implementing new, creative solutions to complex issues.
• Understanding of and experience within the insurance industry is required.
• Skilled in linking multiple data sources into a logical format for analysis.
• Experience managing relationships with upper management and technical developers.
• Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
• MS-SQL (or related software) skill preferred.

Responsibilities

• Shares accountability for the P&L of personal lines products in Direct division.
• Manage high-complexity projects using data systems to identify and solve strategic issues.
• Understand predictive modeling and assist others in interpretation for business.
• Seek out new ideas and approaches to business issues and develop hypotheses.
• Interface with other departments to address product needs.
• Review documentation and coordinate activities with marketing, customer service, underwriting, finance, IT.
• Serve as regulatory expert with understanding of rules and endorsements.
• Monitor competitive, legislative, and regulatory environments in assigned states.
• Directly manage and develop product analysts.
• Mentor team members on project work, insurance and business knowledge.
• Represent product in meetings with other departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
