Job purpose

The Product Manager - Paving Strategy will be responsible for assisting in sales and developing a support strategy to gain market share in the defined territory. This position will oversee, guide, and coordinate the sales and support of all asphalt paving, milling, and compaction machines in the CMD East region. The manager is responsible for developing relationships within the road construction industry and attending industry-related shows.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Create a business plan for the future paving division based on growth initiatives.
  2. Develop a customer list, identify their needs, and recommend specific machines suited for their use.
  3. Assist sales staff with customers to develop market opportunities for road construction products.
  4. Provide customers with detailed product information.
  5. Design demo and loaner programs to facilitate sales.
  6. Follow product orders and communicate with customers about delivery.
  7. Coordinate with aftermarket support teams to provide exceptional post-sale service.
  8. Develop training programs for future technicians supporting the product line.
  9. Build dedicated service organizations upon achieving growth initiatives.
  10. Manage relationships between customers and WPI.
  11. Identify and align resources to increase sales and aftermarket support.
  12. Attend industry trade shows as required.
  13. Evaluate additional paving product manufacturers for potential partnerships.
  14. Assess the Texas paving market within the WPI footprint and develop a business expansion plan based on success in the WPI East territory.
Qualifications
  1. At least 6 years of related experience in road construction machines.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in business preferred.
  3. Valid state Driver's License.
  4. Willingness to travel extensively.
  5. Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
