Job summary

Averro is seeking a Product Line Manager to lead a market-facing portfolio for an industrial manufacturer of fuel gases and clean energy. The role requires managing distributor-driven product lines, driving profit, and gathering customer and distributor insights.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Service to define roadmaps, build business cases, and support sales with pricing and analysis. A strong channel background is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field.
• 3–5+ years in product management or product line ownership.
• Experience owning or selling engineered systems.
• Channel management and distributor support experience.
• Background in industrial manufacturing, energy, oil/gas, or equipment industries.
• Strong financial and pricing analysis abilities.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a Product Line Manager for our industrial manufacturer of fuel gases and clean energy. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in product portfolio management for engineered hardware systems. You must have industrial distribution channel experience and managing a market-facing product line.

• Managing a product line sold through distributors, understanding customer needs across a market, setting pricing strategy, managing margins, driving product improvements, and guiding the lifecycle of a mature product portfolio
• Own the performance and profitability of company's existing product portfolio, including revenue, bookings, margins, and market share
• Collect Voice of Customer insights and competitive intelligence through direct customer and distributor engagement
• Define product requirements, develop roadmap recommendations, and build business cases for product investments
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Service on product development, improvement, and lifecycle management
• Support Sales with product positioning, pricing strategy, and competitive analysis to drive growth and protect margin

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field
• 3–5+ years of product management or product line ownership experience
• Must have experience owning, supporting, or selling engineered systems
• Must have channel management and distributor support experience
• Background in industrial manufacturing, energy, oil/gas, or equipment industries
• Strong financial business acumen, client relationship and customer research skills
• Financial analysis skills— revenue, margins, cost variance, labor rates, pricing
• Managing pricing and margin for a product line
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings; excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills
• Excel expert
