Market Insight and Opportunity Definition:

• Create a mechanism for gathering and translating voice-of-customer, channel, competitive, technical, and market insight.
• Quantify and prioritize opportunities using evidence, strategic fit, customer value, market attractiveness, commercial potential, and organizational capability.
• Balance input from Sales with direct customer, distributor, industry, competitive, and third‑party research to form an independent market view.
• Establish product feedback loops that bring customer and competitive learning back into product strategy and design decisions specific to problems that customers are trying to solve.

Product and Portfolio Strategy:

• Own product‑line strategy and roadmaps across relevant OEM, food service, and distribution channels, aligned with business growth priorities.
• Partner with Engineering and Operations to translate market needs into practical solutions that balance customer value, performance, cost, quality, and manufacturability.
• Define target markets, customer needs, use cases, value propositions, and sources of differentiation for new and existing products.
• Develop and sponsor business cases and product requirements that clarify the problem to solve, intended outcome, rationale, and measures of success.
• Recommend where to invest, maintain, improve, simplify, or exit across the portfolio, including leadership of the SKU rationalization process.
• Monitor product and portfolio performance and recommend improvements involving features, cost, manufacturability, positioning, or lifecycle decisions.

Positioning, Messaging and Go to Market Strategy:

• Serve as the strategic product leader across Sales, Engineering, Operations, Customer Experience, and Marketing to align product decisions, positioning, and commercialization efforts around customer and market needs.
• Own product positioning, messaging architecture, value propositions, and competitive narratives.
• Define the go‑to‑market strategy for product launches, including target audiences, channel approach, launch objectives, commercial readiness requirements, and measures of success.
• Ensure positioning and messaging are understood and consistently activated by front‑line commercial teams.
• Partner with Sales to define product‑training needs, customer‑facing tools, and commercialization support, while delegating production of those materials to tactical marketing resources.
• Evaluate market response and launch performance, capture learning, and adjust product or go‑to‑market strategy as needed.
• Establish marketing priorities, messaging direction, content requirements, and approval standards for product datasheets, sales collateral, website content, launch communications, trade‑show materials, and other marketing assets.
• Review tactical deliverables for technical accuracy, consistency, brand alignment, customer relevance, and readiness for use
• Manage the individual(s) responsible for tactical marketing execution, ensuring priorities, workload, and deliverables align with business objectives.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• 5‑7 years experience in product management, product strategy, or product marketing role within a manufactured or technical‑product environment.
• Demonstrated experience using customer, market, and competitive insight to shape product priorities, roadmaps, business cases, positioning, and commercialization plans.
• Experience partnering with Engineering or product‑development teams to convert market needs into product requirements and practical solutions.
• Experience leading product launches and building alignment across multiple functions.
• Experience in water filtration, water treatment, OEM products, wholesale, distribution, food service, or an adjacent technical market is preferred.
