Job description

Summary of This Role

TouchNet, a leading provider of payment and credentialing solutions in the Higher Education space, is looking for a Product Manager, complianceto drive product compliance strategy, definition, and execution for one or more products and solutions that impact multiple product development teams and/or business functions.

As a Product Manager, you will take a hands-on role in the analysis of new and existing standards, development of product requirements, ensuring that platform scalably complies with new and existing regulations, and advocate for privacy, security, data governance, and rights holders. You will also serve as a product expert, working internally across departments to communicate product direction, educating team members on new feature requirements, as well as coordinating product compliance plans, roadmaps and product launches.

The ideal candidate would have experience and demonstrated passion for legal and/or compliance related initiatives relevant to privacy, cloud security, payments, etc.

What Part Will You Play?
  • Manages the process from product development to product launch, ensuring execution is in line with project plan, for small or moderately complex new product initiatives or existing product initiatives. In cases in which the product has a distinct PNL, the product manager has responsibility for managing a product's PNL to ensure profitability for product initiatives.
  • For assigned products, owns, manages, and communicates a product roadmap, including collaborating with industry analysts to form competitive analysis, and with delivery, sales, and relationship management teams to determine prioritization, development, and ongoing costs of delivery, and market positioning for compliance related initiatives.
  • Develops business cases requiring minimal analytical skills for new product functionality to serve as inputs to decision-making, prioritization, pricing, and client value proposition.
  • Follows a structured, repeatable process for collecting and analyzing market research, to include industry publications, analyst research, experiential research, client surveys, etc. Supports the strategic planning approach for summarizing and communicating the results of aggregate research.
  • For assigned products, supports the collaboration with product delivery and technology architecture to validate detailed design, particularly to ensure that product objectives and key requirements are met and aligned with the market needs and the business unit strategy.
  • Understand legislative landscape, both globally and domestically, to inform feature prioritization.
  • Lead evaluation of differing standards to identify product gaps.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop, track, and prioritize product requirements.
  • Lead key projects, partnering with Legal, Operations, Policy, Engineering and other product teams across the organization.
  • Cultivates discussions with stakeholders and clients to identify opportunities within the product and set prioritization.
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining risk policies and programs to ensure organizational compliance with various standards.
  • Overseeing the future vision/development of TouchNet solutions, based on input from various sources.
  • Presenting product short term goals and long term strategy to leadership team.
  • Working closely with development and UX teams throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA Degree
  • Minimum 6 Years Relevant Experience in product management or related field
  • Experience in similar business product services and/or external customer/market experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated passion for legal and/or compliance-related initiatives
  • Capable of driving clarity while balancing multiple perspectives and stakeholders
  • Proven working experience in software Product Management or equivalent professional experience
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly in writing and verbally to stakeholders
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Occasional Travel
  • Experience with an Agile software development processes
  • Experience with JIRA, Atlassian, GSuite, and OKRs is a plus

Builds on/Maintains external relationships of assigned accounts.
  • Supervision - Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel.
