Position Summary

Mitutoyo America Corporation is seeking a Product Manager – CMM & IoT to drive the growth, profitability, and market development of our coordinate measuring machine (CMM), software, connectivity, and data solutions portfolio.

This position develops and executes product, pricing, launch, training, and go-to-market strategies to increase revenue, strengthen market position, and drive customer adoption.

Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Technical Support, Sales Development, and Mitutoyo Japan, the Product Manager serves as a key commercial and technical resource, helping translate customer requirements into measurement, automation, connectivity, and data-management solutions.

What You’ll Do:

• Partner with the Group Product Manager to develop and execute annual and long-term business plans, objectives, and growth strategies for the CMM and IoT portfolio.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for CMM systems, software, connectivity, and data solutions through ongoing market research, technical training, and hands‑on product engagement.
• Own portfolio pricing and commercial configuration, including price‑book maintenance, competitive positioning, partner strategies, CPQ quote templates, accessories, and bundled solution packages.
• Plan and manage new product, software, and feature introductions in coordination with Mitutoyo Japan, Technical Support, Sales, Marketing, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor revenue, profitability, market share, customer adoption, and engagement metrics; identify performance gaps and recommend corrective actions with Sales management.
• Develop and evaluate promotions, industry‑specific campaigns, customer targets, and use cases that communicate measurable value, automation readiness, connectivity, and data‑driven quality improvements.
• Collaborate with Marketing to create accurate and compelling digital, promotional, catalog, literature, and SharePoint content for the CMM and IoT portfolio.
• Plan product placement, applications, and demonstrations for trade shows and Mitutoyo America showrooms, including CMM workflows, MeasurLink, condition monitoring, connectivity, and data integration.
• Develop and deliver product and sales‑enablement training for Sales, Technical Support, and other internal teams on CMM technologies, software, connectivity, integration, and customer use cases.
• Coordinate with Technical Support on special quotations, retrofits, upgrades, accessories, integration packages, and other technical requests from Sales and customers.
• Identify and assess customer requirements for measurement automation, factory connectivity, digital data capture, condition monitoring, and predictive maintenance; translate findings into product requirements, commercial solutions, and sales‑enablement materials.
• Collaborate with software and technical teams to advance integration opportunities among CMM systems, IoT devices, SMS, MeasurLink, and other digital platforms that improve customer workflows and data utilization.
• Leverage approved artificial intelligence tools to create and enhance sales‑enablement resources, including product‑selection guides, competitive comparisons, customer‑facing materials, training content, proposal support, and other tools that improve sales effectiveness and internal productivity. Identify practical use cases, coordinate with appropriate technical and business stakeholders, and support pilot programs that may evaluate future AI applications within CMM, software, or connected quality solutions.
• Build and maintain competitive intelligence, including product comparisons, connectivity capabilities, feature maps, pricing insights, and market trends.
• Represent Mitutoyo America in communications and questionnaires from Mitutoyo Japan by providing accurate technical updates, market feedback, competitive insights, customer requirements, and roadmap input.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, preferably in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Five years of project management experience.
• Product Management certification preferred.
• Strong technical, analytical, strategic planning, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to translate technical product capabilities into customer and business value.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
