Job summary

Steampunk, Inc. is seeking a Product Manager who acts as a servant leader, systems thinker, and product-focused facilitator.

You will guide a cross-functional team of designers, PMs, and engineers, blending Agile delivery with design thinking to deliver high-impact digital services. You’ll manage user needs from prioritization through deployment, partnering with stakeholders to align goals and ensure backlog clarity and delivery rhythms.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
• 7+ years of experience with Scrum/Kanban Methodologies
• 7+ years of experience serving as a Product Owner or Scrum Master
• Must have CSM and/or SAFe certifications
• Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence
• Ability to help teams write user stories/epics, identify dependencies, and design optimal solutions
• Flexibility to work with teams, individuals, and executives and willingness to help with a wide variety of work products and people
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
• Experience working in a studio / human centered design approach

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies (daily standups, planning, backlog refinement, reviews, retrospectives) to drive alignment and delivery.
• Collaborate with clients, designers, and engineers to align goals, user needs, and feasibility.
• Apply design thinking to frame problems and shorten iteration cycles.
• Support service design by linking user journeys to backend processes and policies.
• Translate user insights and business goals into iterative development.
• Maintain Agile artifacts in Jira (boards, stories, burndown) for transparency.
• Ensure stories are well-defined and aligned with sprint goals and capacity.
• Coach teams in Agile best practices and remove blockers.
• Partner with product owners to define priorities and MVP opportunities.
• Stay close to the product and advocate for user and team perspectives.
• Adapt to shifting priorities, evolving requirements, or new learnings.
• Lead exercises with business partners and encourage critical thinking
