Job summary

Scriptly, a SaaS pharmacy management platform, is seeking a Product Manager who can simplify a regulated domain into intuitive software. You will own a meaningful portion of the Scriptly platform end to end, from understanding pharmacy and partner needs to what ships and how it performs in production.

This hands-on role involves partnering with pharmacists, technicians, Support and Success teams, and enterprise partners.

About the Role

We are looking for a Product Manager who can turn a complicated, regulated domain into software that feels obvious to use. You will own a meaningful slice of the Scriptly platform end to end, from understanding what pharmacies and partners actually need through to what ships and how it performs once it is live.

This is a hands‑on role on a small team, and you will not be handed a fully formed backlog. Expect to spend real time with pharmacists, technicians, our Support and Success teams, and enterprise partners, then decide what matters most and make the case for it. You will work with Engineering daily and have the latitude to shape your area rather than administer it.

Our current roadmap spans clinical and dispensing workflow improvements, pharmacy automation and robotics integration, interoperability work including Surescripts and TEFCA participation, and expansion of our hub pharmacy capabilities. There is more opportunity in front of us than any one quarter can absorb, so prioritization is a core part of the job.

What You'll Do Own the Problem, Not Just the Backlog

• Develop deep knowledge of pharmacy operations and hub services, to the point where you can anticipate what customers need before they ask.
• Talk regularly with pharmacists, technicians, and pharmacy owners, and sit with our Support and Success teams to learn what actually generates friction.
• Translate customer needs, partner commitments, and regulatory requirements into clear problem statements and prioritized outcomes.
• Maintain and communicate a roadmap that leadership, Engineering, and customer‑facing teams can all plan against.

Define and Ship

• Write clear, complete requirements: user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, edge cases, and the reasoning behind the decision.
• Partner closely with Engineering through refinement, sprint planning, and delivery, staying available to answer questions and make tradeoff calls quickly.
• Work with design and engineering on interfaces that respect how busy a pharmacy actually is.
• Own release readiness, including documentation, internal enablement, and coordination with Support and Success before anything reaches customers.

Measure and Iterate

• Define what success looks like before you build, then track it after launch.
• Use product analytics, ticket trends, and direct customer feedback to decide what to improve, what to leave alone, and what to retire.
• Bring evidence to prioritization conversations so decisions are based on impact rather than volume of requests.

Partner Across the Company

• Support enterprise and manufacturer partner engagements by translating contractual and operational commitments into deliverable product work.
• Keep Sales, Support, Success, and Operations informed on what is coming, what changed, and what it means for customers.
• Contribute to integration and interoperability initiatives with vendors, robotics manufacturers, and industry networks.

What You Bring Required

• 3+ years of product management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work through a complex domain and become the person others come to for answers.
• Strong written communication, especially the ability to write requirements engineers can build from without guessing.
• Comfort working directly with engineers day to day in an agile process, including backlog grooming in Jira or a similar tool.
• Analytical rigor and the willingness to say no clearly and respectfully when something does not earn a slot.
• Comfort working a hybrid schedule with three days per week in our Schaumburg, IL office.

Preferred

• Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, pharmacy benefits, specialty pharmacy, or hub services.
• Familiarity with pharmacy and healthcare data standards such as NCPDP SCRIPT, HL7, FHIR, or Surescripts services.
• Understanding of HIPAA and building software that handles PHI responsibly.
• Experience with third‑party integrations, APIs, or automation and robotics systems.
• Experience supporting enterprise customers with contractual delivery commitments.

What Success Looks Like (First 3 to 6 Months)

• You know the product and the pharmacy workflow well enough that Support and Success come to you with customer questions.
• Engineering has a clear, well‑specified backlog and rarely has to stop and ask what a story means.
• The roadmap for your area is documented, prioritized, and understood across the company.
• Something meaningful has shipped, and you can point to how it changed a customer outcome.
