Job summary

Bobyard, Inc. is building an AI-powered takeoff platform to automate construction estimation.

We are a small, hands-on team backed by notable investors, with a clear vision to bring pre-construction into software and to ship measurable value for estimators and project teams. The role is a full-time, in-person position in San Francisco, offering ownership over product strategy and a close collaboration loop with engineering, design, marketing, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Spend real time with customers: estimators, PMs, and GCs across the construction workflow.
• Shape vision and roadmap: decide what to build, what to cut, and why.
• Own 0→1 work: take ideas from concept to shipped, tested, and iterated.
• Work closely with engineering and design—no throw-it-over-the-wall handoffs.
• Align with marketing and sales on how we talk about what we build.

Job description

Construction is a trillion dollar industry that still runs largely on PDFs, rulers, and manual processes.

The biggest bottleneck is cost estimation. Takeoffs are manual and slow — estimators spend days counting materials from drawings by hand, and mistakes are costly.

Bobyard is automating construction takeoff with AI. We use computer vision and NLP to read drawings faster and more accurately than manual review, and we're working to bring more of pre-construction into software.

We're a small team backed by 8VC, Primary, and Pear.

Position Overview

• Spend real time with customers: estimators, PMs, and GCs. Understand their workflow deeply.
• Shape vision and roadmap: decide what we build, what we cut, and why.
• Own 0→1 work: take ideas from concept to shipped, tested, and iterated.
• Work closely with engineering and design — no throw-it-over-the-wall handoffs.
• Align with marketing and sales on how we talk about what we build.

• Fast learner — no construction background required, but you'll need to get up to speed quickly
