About the role

Schumacher is hiring a Product Manager to join the e‑commerce product team. This is a newly created role: you'll join the team responsible for improving conversion all the way through add‑to‑cart, covering acquisition and discovery.

Your mission

You understand traffic generation mechanics and are an expert in e‑commerce conversion. More specifically, you’ll own the initiatives that drive incoming traffic to schumacher.com, as well as the features that help our designers “evaluate and compare” products, with the goal of improving add‑to‑cart rates.

This spans products serving our internal users (such as the email campaign management tool or the CMS) as well as on‑site work aimed at improving the designer experience. You'll also own cross‑brand initiatives to improve the digital experience across FS&Co group brands (Schumacher international sites, Tillett, Patterson Flynn, Backdrop, and other brands in the group).

Day to day, this covers the full product lifecycle, from research to results:
  • Research and discovery
Run your own user research (interviews, usability testing, review of qualitative and quantitative data) to identify friction points and opportunities within your scope. Draw on existing product data as much as on fieldwork.
  • Scoping and prioritization
Frame problems before framing solutions. Build prioritized roadmaps based on business impact (traffic, conversion) and effort, and make the case for your trade-offs to stakeholders.
  • Requirements definition
Write clear specs and PRDs, with success criteria defined upfront. Translate business or user needs into user stories that engineering and design teams can act on.
  • Delivery
Drive day‑to‑day development with engineering and design teams: run agile ceremonies, make trade‑off calls mid‑sprint, unblock issues, and own the quality of what ships.
  • Experimentation and results measurement
Design and launch A/B tests, define success metrics, analyze results, and turn them into product decisions. Track the impact of your initiatives on traffic and conversion over time, not just at launch.
  • Continuous improvement
Treat maintenance and recurring pain points with the same rigor as major launches — a site that converts well is also a site that doesn’t break.
What we’re looking for
  • Curiosity about AI — You're quick to try new tools and processes before being asked to. AIisn'ta separate topic for you:it'sbuilt into how youwork dayto day,as a way tomove faster and produce more relevant work — in research, analysis, writing, or delivery.
  • User orientation — You start from theuserneed before jumping to a solution, and you’rewilling to push back on an idea thatdoesn'tserve the customer experience.
  • Design sensibility — You build products that are user-friendly and usable, but also visually consistent and true to the brand. You know how to work with designers and push back on a deliverable that functions but doesn’t fit the brand's identity.
  • Analytical, data‑driven mindset — You're self‑sufficient in going after insights yourself. You'renot afraid to get hands‑on with tools (analytics, SQL, dashboards) to build your own analyses rather than waiting for someone to hand them to you. Your decisions are grounded in data, not just intuition.
  • Proactivity — You spot problems and opportunities beforethey'reflagged to you, and you take initiative without waiting for an explicit mandate.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder management — You're equally comfortable driving a dev team day to day and collaborating with a range of internal teams (sales, marketing, portfolio development, data). You communicate clearly, in writing and verbally, and know how to build buy‑in without forcing it.
