Qualifications

Responsibilities

- Update digital model with product maturity and interfaces.
- Prepare 3D/2D digital and physical model reviews.
- Check milestone deliverables against maturity requirements.
- Provide required DFMEA data and participate in risk mitigation.

The Product Line Engineer 2 is responsible for ensuring the geometric integrity and overall technical maturity of products throughout their lifecycle development on moderate complexity scope of work. This role involves close collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure and improve product quality, functionality, manufacturability and reliability. Works under general supervision.
- A. Identify cosmetic and functional requirements.
- B. Participate in and analyze initial product volumes in the early phase
- C. Ensure proper documentation of dimension chains by different disciplines.
- D. In line with the product line architecture, participate in the establishment of the PBS (Product Breakdown Structure).
- E. Create and maintain the Digital Geometric Reference Model (MRG - DMU Digital Mockup).
- F. Create the allocated volumes to be integrated into the digital model corresponding to the functional requirements defined in the specifications.
- G. Create and update the digital model in line with product maturity:
- i. Space allocation (MAE)
- ii. ICD (Interface Control Document), in particular the interfaces, dimensions, weight, center of gravity, etc.
- H. Prepare 3D and 2D digital and physical model reviews in line with the architecture procedure and or engineering procedure.
- I. Check, at each milestone, the expected compliance of product deliverables (seats, shells, furniture, etc.) or sub-assemblies with the maturity requirements defined by the Architecture provided as input data.
- J. Ensure the integration, consistency and availability of CAD models of complete products (seats, shells, furniture, etc.) or sub-assemblies at the state of progress required for each Prompt and/or MER (1,2,3, etc).
- K. Produce simple tolerance stack-up corresponding to the assembly of the sub-assemblies, to guarantee the clearances and the functions.
- L. Provide the justification elements required at product level (functional analysis, calculations, technical justifications, etc.).
- M. Participate in product DFMEA, provide the required technical data, and participate on the risk mitigation identified by the DFMEA.
- N. Ensure that the required ergonomic constraints are respected.
- Support the use of the geometric reference for each product.
- P. Perform other duties as assigned.

- Must have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace, Engineering Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Design Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical and Energy Engineering or a related engineering degree (minimum of 12 years equivalent related engineering experience will be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree).

- Must have a master's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Design Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical and Energy Engineering or a related engineering degree
- Plus, an additional 2 years of related design or product development experience required with bachelor's degree
- OR –
- plus 1 year of related design experience required with master's degree
- Must have excellent drafting skills in CATIA V5 (or higher) and/or Pro/Engineer.
- Must be able to provide moderately complex lay-outs and program design studies.
- Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.
- Ability to read and review written communication.
- Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
- Must be able to interact successfully with engineering, tooling, and manufacturing departments.
- Must be able to function as part of a Product Development Team.
- APQP, D&PFMEA, Control Plan, Problem Solving (8D, 5W2H)
- CATIA V.5, Configuration Management.
International and/or Domestic travel required; Up to 5-10% of time.
