Occupational Summary (Position Objective & Authorities)

Objective:

Provide support to leads and operators in the assembly and/or fabrication areas. Provide information and support for process improvement. Implement structure and plan manufacturing programs.

Support manufacturing assembly and fabrication to trouble shoot both assembly and fabrication problems. This requires close interaction with assembly personnel, fabrication personnel, and their supervision. Must support all lean manufacturing improvements and may require participation in lean improvement activities. Must also work closely with Quality Assurance, Program Management, Engineering, and shop Managers to resolve quality issues, increase productivity, and eliminate ergonomic problems. Under general supervision this position will play a crucial role in the seamless transition of work processes and projects between different locations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and optimal performance.

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

Main Function Responsibilities -

A) Provide support to leads and operators in the assembly and fabrication areas.

B) Analyze parts and seat flow.

C) Conduct time and motion studies and provide proposal improvement.

D) Balance the lines or cells and implement procedures and/or operator instructions to support process improvement.

E) Participate to the implementation of structure and plan manufacturing programs (Lean Manufacturing, Set-up Reduction, 6S, Cost Reduction...).

F) Apply statistical data analysis in normal duty activities as required

G) Measures, analyzes, and adjusts Factory Floor Layout/ Process Flows to achieve optimum manufacturing productivity as directed by Lean Manufacturing practices, subject to managerial approval.

H) Assists in the creation and updates of Standard Work Instructions for use by factory personnel, in compliance with design and quality specifications and FAA directives.

I) Participates in training shop personnel in new and/or updated processes, including Lean Manufacturing practices and improvement implementations.

J) Communicates design improvement ideas to engineering as required.

K) Investigates serious or recurrent production difficulties and delays due to such factors as faulty methods, tooling, operational sequences, or inadequate facilities or layouts.

A. Education & Qualification-

B.S. degree in a related technical field (eg: IE, ME, EE) required; or
Associate degree (in related field) with 3 years related experience; or
Six (6) years of job related experience.

B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge -

0-2 years' work experience, preferred.

C. Professional Skills -

Ability to support manufacturing fabrication and assembly departments in identification and resolving production problems and issues,
Must be capable of preparing well‑written and orderly reports.
Must have basic knowledge of manufacturing and related operations with detailed knowledge of such fields as product design, engineering function, tool design, tool fabrication, space layout, handling equipment, production machinery and equipment, N/C machinery and equipment, factory methods work, etc.
Must have knowledge of trigonometry, algebra and statistics.
Basic knowledge of inventory management, product data management, monitoring production control and cost, and in manufacturing resource planning.
PC skills, knowledge of all Microsoft software.
Basic knowledge of motion and time study principles
Must be able to read and interpret engineering design blueprints, facility lay‑out or floor plan blueprints, and/or such drawings, diagrams, and photographs as required by all of the above functions.
Demonstrate data analysis abilities.
Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.
Ability to read and review written communication.
