Job summary

Corgi Insurance Inc. is seeking an Accounting Lead to build and own the accounting function for a new product line in New York. You will establish infrastructure, processes and controls, and ensure accurate financial records as the product line launches and scales.

You'll work closely with the product line leadership and Corgi's finance organization, owning the accounting function and determining appropriate accounting treatment for new activities and revenue streams.

Qualifications

• CPA is required.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Experience with month-end close.
• Ability to translate complex activity into proper accounting treatment.

Responsibilities

• Own the accounting function for the new product line.
• Build and maintain accounting infrastructure, processes and controls.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Oversee the general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting.
• Establish accounting policies and procedures as the business develops.
• Collaborate with leadership to understand products, transactions and revenue streams.
• Monitor financial activity, identify discrepancies and improve processes.
• Build scalable processes for growth and complexity.
• Coordinate with finance, tax, legal and operations teams.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
