About Corgi

Corgi is a full-stack insurance carrier building better, faster insurance products from the ground up. We're not a broker: we design, underwrite, price, and issue policies directly, with fewer handoffs and less friction. Insurance is the largest unautomated industry in financial services, and we're rebuilding it using AI. We've raised $374M from Kindred, TCV, and others to do so. YC S24.

The Role

We're hiring a VP of Finance, Operations to build and lead the operational finance function at Corgi.

This role is responsible for the systems, controls, and financial operations that keep the business running smoothly and scaling responsibly. You will oversee finance operations while helping build the infrastructure needed to support a fast-growing and operationally complex company.

Insurance is operationally demanding. We believe finance operations are a core capability, not a back-office function.

You'll work closely with leadership and have broad ownership across financial operations and execution.

What You'll Do
  • Lead financial operations across the company.
  • Oversee month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, and financial controls.
  • Manage treasury, cash movement, payroll funding, and operational finance workflows.
  • Build scalable finance and accounting systems and infrastructure.
  • Improve reporting accuracy, financial processes, and internal controls.
  • Partner with auditors, tax advisors, regulators, and external partners.
  • Support insurance and carrier-related financial operations.
  • Build and manage finance teams over time.
  • Ensure finance operations scale effectively with company growth.
  • Lead operational finance initiatives and solve complex execution problems.
What We're Looking For
  • 8+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial operations leadership.
  • Strong accounting and operational finance expertise.
  • Experience building or improving financial infrastructure and controls.
  • Excellent systems thinking and operational judgment.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, evolving environments.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • CPA or accounting background is highly valued but not required.
  • Insurance or regulated-industry experience is a plus.
You Might Be a Fit if You...
  • Care deeply about operational excellence and accuracy.
  • Like building systems that scale.
  • Enjoy creating order out of complexity.
  • Prefer ownership and execution over bureaucracy.
  • Want meaningful responsibility and broad impact.
Why Join Corgi
  • High ownership and leadership visibility.
  • Opportunity to shape finance operations from the ground up.
  • Meaningful impact on a rapidly growing business.
  • Smart, ambitious, and deeply curious team.
