Job summary

Plexus Corp in the United States (Nampa, Idaho) offers a Product Intern role focused on manufacturing process development in Surface Mount or Electro-Mechanical assembly. You will work with engineers at the Focus Factory, Site, and Corporate levels to develop sound, repeatable processes that maximize safety, yield, and efficiency, with mentoring provided.

This internship targets students pursuing a Bachelor's in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.

Qualifications

Student working toward a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field for entire duration of internship.
Experience in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Lean Sigma
Proficient in Google Applications

Responsibilities

Support, recognize, define, and solve problems/opportunities within the Factory.
Support manufacturing processes, including layout and concepts.
Review labor quotes vs actual times and implement improvements.
Review ECOs and provide feedback on labor impact.
Understand manufacturing process controls and statistical applications.
Assist with Manufacturing Readiness Reviews.
Develop knowledge of Plexus DFM Guidelines.
Advise on raw material receiving formats to optimize manufacturing.
Determine facility requirements for new processes or equipment, with safety considerations.
Participate in process Validation activities per SOP and support customer teams.
