Job summary

Oberto Snacks, Inc. in Kent, WA is seeking a Product Inspection Technician for 2nd shift. You will perform food safety checks on ready-to-eat lines, monitor WIP quality, and ensure products meet specifications.

The role pays $19.00–$20.00 per hour with a $1.00 shift differential for 2nd shift, and requires attention to sanitation, GMPs, and HACCP awareness. Join our innovative, quality-driven team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with Quality Assurance preferred.
• Basic computer literacy (Using iPad).
• Understanding and compliance with GMPs (OJT).
• Understanding and compliance with personal safety rules (OJT).
• Familiarity with HACCP (OJT).
• 6 months processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather random samples and perform AW analysis per procedures.
• Release product based on AW sample results.
• Ensure sanitary handling procedures in all activities.
• Inform Management of any Food Safety/Quality issues or noncompliance.
• Other tasks as assigned.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Product Inspector is responsible for conducting food safety checks with support for the ready-to-eat processing lines. This role monitors the quality and food safety of WIP to ensure consistent and safe products that meet company specifications are supplied to our customers.

WAGE: Hourly range for this position is $19.00 per hour, plus $1.00 per hour for shift differential for working 2 nd shift.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Gather random samples and perform MPR AW (water activity) analysis in accordance with written procedures.
• Release product based on the results of AW samples.
• Ensure sanitary handling procedures in all activities.
• Inform Management of any Food Safety/Quality issues or of any processes which have become noncompliant with specified requirements.
• Other tasks as assigned.

• High School or Equivalent

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work environment is that of a processing environment. This employee regularly works with hazardous machinery, materials, chemicals, wet floors and with wet equipment. This employee regularly works around high voltage, hot water, and steam

• Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
• Physical work includes climbing stairs, pulling hoses, etc.
• Willing to work in a various-temperature environment
• Ability to handle heavy objects safely and with proper body mechanics. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and routinely maneuver objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell
• Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus
