Job summary

Oberto Snacks, Inc. in Kent, WA is seeking a Production Inspection Technician for the 2nd shift to conduct food safety checks on ready-to-eat production lines and monitor quality of WIP to ensure safety and compliance with company specs.

The role includes sampling, AW analysis, product release decisions, and adherence to GMPs and HACCP. Eligible candidates should have a High School education and experience in QA or production settings.

Qualifications

  • High School or equivalent required.
  • Experience with Quality Assurance preferred.
  • Familiarity with HACCP (OJT).
  • Understanding and compliance with all GMPs (OJT).
  • 6 months processing experience preferred.
  • 6 months quality control experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gather random samples and perform MPR AW (water activity) analysis in accordance with written procedures.
  • Release product based on the results of AW samples.
  • Ensure sanitary handling procedures in all activities.
  • Inform Management of any Food Safety/Quality issues or of any processes which have become noncompliant with specified requirements.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

About The Position

The Product Inspector is responsible for conducting food safety checks with support for the ready-to-eat processing lines. This role monitors the quality and food safety of WIP to ensure consistent and safe products that meet company specifications are supplied to our customers.

WAGE: Hourly range for this position is $19.00 per hour, plus $1.00 per hour for shift differential for working 2 nd shift.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Gather random samples and perform MPR AW (water activity) analysis in accordance with written procedures.
  • Release product based on the results of AW samples.
  • Ensure sanitary handling procedures in all activities.
  • Inform Management of any Food Safety/Quality issues or of any processes which have become noncompliant with specified requirements.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School or Equivalent
  • Experience with Quality Assurance (Preferred)
  • Basic computer literacy (Using iPad)
  • Understanding and compliance with all GMPs (OJT)
  • Understanding and compliance with all personal safety rules (OJT)
  • Familiarity with HACCP (OJT)
  • 6 months processing experience preferred.
  • 6 months quality control experience preferred
Physical Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Work environment is that of a processing environment. This employee regularly works with hazardous machinery, materials, chemicals, wet floors and with wet equipment. This employee regularly works around high voltage, hot water, and steam

  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Physical work includes climbing stairs, pulling hoses, etc.
  • Willing to work in a various-temperature environment
  • Ability to handle heavy objects safely and with proper body mechanics. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and routinely maneuver objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell
  • Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus
