Job summary

BYD is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the end-to-end lifecycle of mechanical components for consumer electronics enclosures and structural parts. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• 3–5 years in mechanical product development or project engineering, preferably OEM/manufacturing for consumer electronics.
• Hands-on experience with mass production methods (CNC, stamping, casting, surface finishing).
• SolidWorks/Creo CAD use with basic GD&T knowledge.
• Experience with contract manufacturers and Asia-based suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end mechanical component lifecycle from concept to mass production for enclosures and structural parts.
• Act as a technical liaison between internal teams and customers, suppliers, factories.
• Collaborate with clients to define product requirements considering design, cost, and manufacturability.
• Support business development with technical insights during meetings, RFQs, and scoping.
• Translate needs into action plans and guide suppliers/CMs on quality, cost, and schedule.
• Perform feasibility assessments including DFM and DFA reviews.
• Oversee supplier coordination for CNC machining, metal forming, die-casting, finishing processes.
• Contribute to pricing strategies by analyzing material costs and process efficiencies.
• Lead or support NPI activities, ramp-ups, and factory readiness.
• Stay updated on manufacturing trends and customer needs in consumer electronics.
