Job summary

Lumicity is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in San Francisco to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced health and wellness devices from concept through production.

You will design and build electromechanical systems, drive the full product lifecycle, and collaborate with suppliers worldwide, including travel to China as needed. The role demands hands-on problem solving and a track record of shipping high-volume consumer products.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping at least one high volume consumer product.
• Strong proficiency in 3D modeling and simulation tools (SolidWorks, NX, Creo).
• Consumer product design experience with knowledge of injection molding, sheet metal forming, soft goods, and electromechanical systems.
• Strong first-principles problem solving and root-cause analysis, DOEs, and other quality techniques.
• Experience working with external suppliers and willingness to travel to China as needed.

• Design and build complex electromechanical systems including plastic, metal and softgoods components
• Drive design across entire product lifecycle including conception, CAD, prototyping, testing and ramp
• Integrate novel sensors and actuators
• Perform analysis and testing including thermal, fluid, and structural analysis.
