Job summary

KARL STORZ North America is seeking a Product Evaluation Operator II to evaluate returned medical devices, instruments and software for disposition. You will use SAP and maintain traceable records, ensuring quality compliance and accurate documentation within our service and logistics organization.

The role supports continuous improvement initiatives in a regulated medical device environment, working Monday–Friday with a 6:00 AM–2:30 PM shift and close collaboration with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of KARL STORZ experience or relevant experience in logistics, warehouse operations, manufacturing, returns processing, or similar environment.
  • Experience using SAP or comparable ERP systems with focus on data accuracy and transaction processing.
  • Experience in regulated environments with quality, documentation, and traceability requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while following established processes.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate returned medical devices, instruments, equipment, and software to determine disposition (repair, replacement, return-to-inventory, downgrade, upgrade, or scrap).
  • Execute SAP transactions and maintain accurate records for traceability and compliance.
  • Review product condition, functionality, and documentation to support disposition decisions and identify discrepancies.
  • Support FCO and KSRAPS processes while meeting productivity, quality, and accuracy standards.
  • Provide training and guidance to peers and assist in updating work instructions and standardization.
  • Participate in LEAN, 6S, audits, and continuous improvement activities.

About The Role

The Product Evaluation Operator II plays a critical role in evaluating returned medical devices, instruments, equipment, and software to determine the appropriate disposition of each product. In this role, you will use your technical expertise, product knowledge, and SAP proficiency to support accurate inventory management, quality compliance, and operational efficiency. As a key contributor within our service and logistics organization, you will help ensure product safety, documentation integrity, and customer satisfaction while supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a regulated medical device environment.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM

What You’ll Do
  • Evaluate medical devices, instruments, equipment, and software to determine appropriate disposition, including repair, replacement, return-to-inventory, downgrade, upgrade, or scrap.
  • Execute SAP transactions and maintain accurate records to ensure traceability, inventory accuracy, and compliance with quality requirements.
  • Review product condition, functionality, configuration, and documentation to support sound disposition decisions and identify discrepancies.
  • Support FCO and KSRAPS processes while meeting departmental productivity, quality, and accuracy standards.
  • Serve as a resource for peers by providing training, process guidance, and support for work instruction updates and standardization efforts.
  • Participate in LEAN, 6S, audits, and continuous improvement activities that drive operational excellence and waste reduction.
What You Bring
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of KARL STORZ experience or relevant experience in logistics, warehouse operations, manufacturing, returns processing, or a similar operational environment.
  • Experience using SAP or comparable ERP systems with a strong focus on data accuracy and transaction processing.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to evaluate product condition, functionality, and disposition requirements.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment with quality, documentation, and traceability requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while following established processes.
Nice to Have
  • 3+ years of experience in medical device, healthcare, manufacturing, service, logistics, or distribution environments.
  • Experience supporting training, work instruction development, process standardization, or audit activities.
  • Exposure to FDA, ISO, or other regulated quality systems.
  • Additional technical, systems, or process certifications.
