Job summary

The Product Evaluation Operator III at KARL STORZ SE & Co. KG will expertly evaluate medical devices, instruments, software, and system components to determine disposition such as repair, return-to-inventory, upgrade, or scrap.

You will execute complex SAP and WMS transactions, ensure inventory traceability, and support training, process improvements, and LEAN initiatives in a regulated medical device environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of KARL STORZ experience or relevant experience in logistics, warehouse operations, manufacturing, returns processing, or a similar operational environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with SAP, WMS, or other ERP systems, including complex transaction processing and issue resolution.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to evaluate product functionality, condition, software status, and disposition requirements independently.
  • Experience interpreting schematics, work instructions, process documentation, and technical requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, accountability, communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a medical device, healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, service, warehouse, or distribution environment.
  • 4+ years of experience in a regulated medical device, healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, or distribution setting.
  • Experience with FDA, ISO, OSHA, DOT, or other regulated quality and compliance systems.
  • Experience supporting training, audits, technical writing, process standardization, or continuous improvement activities.
  • Previous experience serving as a technical resource or subject matter expert.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced evaluations of returned medical devices, equipment, instruments, software, and system components to determine disposition including repair, replacement, return-to-inventory, upgrade, downgrade, or scrap.
  • Execute complex SAP, WMS, and related system transactions while maintaining inventory accuracy, data integrity, traceability, and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot advanced issues involving product configurations, software functionality, transaction processing, documentation gaps, and product history.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert by providing technical guidance, peer support, onboarding assistance, and cross-training.
  • Support FCO and KSRAPS-related processes while maintaining productivity and quality expectations.
  • Contribute to work instruction development, process standardization, audits, LEAN initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.

About the Role

The Product Evaluation Operator III is a highly skilled role responsible for evaluating medical devices, instruments, equipment, software, and related system components to determine the appropriate disposition of each product. Serving as a subject matter expert within the operation, you will apply advanced technical knowledge, system expertise, and independent judgment to manage complex evaluations, troubleshoot exceptions, and support critical business processes. This role plays a key part in ensuring product quality, inventory accuracy, compliance, and customer satisfaction while contributing to training, process improvements, and operational excellence within a regulated medical device environment.

What You'll Do
