Job summary

Great Dane in Wayne, Nebraska, is seeking a Product Engineering Manager to lead day-to-day product design decisions with Manufacturing and Engineering, supervising engineers in designing custom trailers.

The role requires a Bachelor's with 5+ years of manufacturing experience, strong leadership, and hands-on skills in CATIA V5, AutoCAD and BOM management. Travel may be required as part of cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience is required.
• Proficiency with CATIA V5, AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Knowledge of Visual Basic or similar programming language.
• Knowledge of MRP systems and World Class Manufacturing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Train engineers in designing products, BOMs and structure analysis.
• Generate BOMs and work with MRP to expose trailer parts needs.
• Review and approve BOMs and production drawings.
• Make day-to-day design decisions with Manufacturing and Engineering.
• Determine material specifications for procurement and perform structure analysis.
• Provide technical assistance and plant tours as needed.
• Collaborate with Sales and customers on product specifications.
