Job summary

Great Dane is seeking a Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer to lead the development and implementation of capital projects and to collaborate with plant operations. You will design manufacturing processes, perform payback analyses, and drive improvements in cost, quality, and safety.

The role requires a bachelor’s in industrial or mechanical engineering with 5–10 years of experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial or mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.
• MS Office, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks proficiency.
• Analytical, problem-solving and strong communication skills.
• Understanding of compliance regulations and codes.

Responsibilities

• Design and build automation solutions.
• Conduct plant visits to assist with project planning and process improvement.
• Provide manufacturing engineering information to customers.
• Oversee capital expenditure program (budgeting, planning, implementation).
• Develop cost reduction, quality and safety improvement projects.
• Perform payback analysis, obtain quotes, oversee installations.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency through analysis and workflow planning.
• Develop manufacturing processes.
• Consult with equipment vendors on design and capabilities.
• Develop corporate engineering strategies.
• Research new equipment and processes for future use.
• Specify necessary tooling.
• Develop solutions to manufacturing and quality problems.

The Position: Directly responsible for the development and implementation of capital projects. These positions also work closely with Plant and Branch Operations in order to anticipate and resolve issues. Develops manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and build automation solutions.
• Conducts plant visits to assist with project planning, process improvement and to maintain company assets.
• Provides manufacturing engineering information to customers.
• Responsible for capital expenditure program (budgeting, project planning and implementation).

• Improves manufacturing efficiency thru analysis and workflow planning.

• Confers with equipment vendors on product design and capabilities.

• Researches new equipment and processes for future implementation.
• Specifies necessary tooling
• Develops solutions to manufacturing and quality problems.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Your skills and abilities (required qualifications)

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in industrial or mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience: 5-10 years of experience preferred.
• Skills: Basic knowledge of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems
  • Asset justification
  • Industrial engineering skills such as work measurement, labor reporting, and plant layout
  • Understanding of building and maintenance contracts including liability issues
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing processes
  • Computer skills including MS Office, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
  • Analytical analysis and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Understand of compliance regulations and codes
• Travel: Up to 50%
