Job summary

Cummins Inc. is offering an engineering internship in the United States. You will engage in product design and system-level decisions, using tools like CREO and ANSYS Workbench to support high-quality component and subsystem design.

Successful candidates will be full-time students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, with a minimum 2.5 GPA preferred. The program requires a 4–12 month commitment and 40 hours per week, with formal eligibility for CPT/OPT as applicable.

Qualifications

• Must be a full-time enrolled student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited U.S. college/university.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5 preferred.
• Must be able to complete 4–12 months (or longer) commitment.
• Must be able to work 40 hours per week.
• Willingness to learn from others on the job.
• Must be currently residing within the continental U.S.

Responsibilities

• Investigate VPI program team or field-based issues; document results with guidance from experienced members.
• Support execution of design processes and use tools to enable design decision making.
• Assist in communicating design concepts through a thorough Design Review package.
• Contribute to concept selection, optimization, and design specifications to serve PPT, VPI, or VPCR initiatives.
• Assist with problem resolution for moderately complex components and subsystems.
• Coordinate with technicians or student interns as needed to support project goals.
• Contribute toward team goals and develop competency areas critical to success.
