Job summary
Valmet seeks a Product Engineer for its North American Wood Handling projects. You will own technical scope for chippers and debarking drums, collaborating with design to lifecycle support with global specialists.
The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, SolidWorks proficiency, and experience with drawings, BOMs, ERP/PDM systems. Occasional travel and cross‑functional teamwork are expected.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on design and development.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks; experience preparing mechanical drawings and BOMs.
- Experience with PDM/PLM and ERP systems; familiarity with COMOS, LN or M-Files is a plus.
- Experience with industrial equipment design (wood-handling) and project delivery coordination.
- Strong communication and ability to work in a global team and travel occasionally.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical lifecycle for chippers, debarking drums and related equipment; drive safety, reliability and cost improvements.
- Lead layout, detail design using SolidWorks; prepare calculations, drawings and BOMs per project requirements.
- Coordinate with Sales, project management, procurement and Service to define scope and review proposals; support estimates.
