Job summary
Valmet in Florence, AL is seeking a Product Engineer to own and develop Wood Handling products such as chippers and debarking drums for North American projects. You will lead mechanical design, prepare drawings and BOMs, and collaborate with global experts from design to lifecycle support.
You will coordinate with Sales, Project Management, Procurement and Service to define scope, assess technical risks, and ensure on-time delivery while visiting sites as required. A Mechanical Eng.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- SolidWorks proficiency and experience in mechanical drawings.
- Experience with PDM/PLM and ERP systems.
- Experience with chippers, debarking drums or wood-handling equipment desirable.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical lifecycle of chippers, debarking drums and related equipment.
- Lead layout and detailed engineering using SolidWorks and prepare BOMs.
- Collaborate with Sales, PM, Procurement and Service to define scope.
- Coordinate global subcontractors and review drawings.
- Provide installation, commissioning and troubleshooting support; travel as required.
