Job summary

ABB is seeking an engineer to develop and maintain the product configurator, ensuring correct configuration and roles per design. You will oversee MM status for active parts and assist with BOM changes while supporting SAP transactions and tooling for engineering activities.

Responsibilities include creating ABB global PN numbers, managing configuration changes, and aiding laser marking system support, with a background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Fluent English with proactive, collaborative mindset and problem-solving orientation.
• Familiarity with SAP, Windchill and MS Office is preferred.

General Information

In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide technical assistance for all engineering activities in assignments. Each day, you will ensure the activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. You will work closely with the Product Engineer, Product Manager, Global Manufacturing and Agile team, providing the best solution for the customer satisfaction in terms of response, delivery time and product performance.

Your Responsibility

• Develop & Maintenance of the product configurator, defining configuration and roles needed according to the design specifications
• Supervise and maintain the MM status for all the active parts, making sure that all the engineering parameters are currect.
• Provide assistance with production order BOM when changes are needed
• Support IT for the development & maintenance of SAP transactions and external tools needed for the product engineering activities
• Creation and maintenance of ABB global PN (1SDA and EAN numbers)
• Configuration Engineering change management
• Supporting laser marking activities from a system standpoint (ZLASER)

Your background

• Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineer or similar
• Positive and proactive mindset, collaborative, clear in communication and result oriented personality that enjoy solving problems
• Fluency in English
• Knowledge of standard tools like SAP, Windchill, MS Office
• Knowledge and experience with ABB Smart Power product families are a plus
