  • Understanding of engineering theories and techniques.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform various engineering tasks involving such functions as analysis, design, development, test, installation, and service, while working from instructions, drawings, proposals, specifications, and other pertinent information.
  • Prepare specifications and related documents in accordance with requirements, established formats, and general instructions. Review and analyze a variety of engineering data, documents, and reports.
  • Responsible for attaining detailed quotations or designs, estimating the cost of fixtures, tools, and engineering requirements and preparation of Authorization For Expenditure (AFE) documents for project proposal and review.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing tools to streamline operations throughout the plant via changes in workstation layout, material handling or processing.
  • Write area Standard Work and Engineering Procedures as required.
  • Calculate manpower requirements, machine capacities, and perform forecast studies using JIT concepts. Develop and present materials and presentations to various levels of management.
  • Support new product introduction. Work with production teams to identify and resolve production related issues as required.
  • Consult with other engineering groups to ensure that specified engineering criteria are suitable for the proposed application, and recommend revisions as appropriate.
  • Participate in the investigation of technical problems and the establishment of procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences.
Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or related field
  • Six Sigma Background strongly preferred (Green Belt, Yellow Belt, etc.)
  • Industry relevant experience in stamping presses, or mechanical affiliated work is strongly preferred
  • 3 years or more years of experience supporting a mix of mechanical, electrical, project engineering, and/or manufacturing engineering; alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments
  • Must understand standard engineering theories, concepts, principles and techniques and be able to utilize engineering design software such as AutoCAD, ProE, and SolidWorks.
  • Ability to travel as needed (estimated 10% at peak times)
  • Candidates must already possess authorization to work for ABB in the US
