Job summary

NSK Steering Systems America is seeking a Product Engineer B/C to design steering column assemblies and intermediate shafts that meet customer requirements. You will utilize standard EPS system designs and ensure manufacturability with input from suppliers and internal processes. You will support the NPDS process and coordinate development activities.

The role emphasizes collaboration with customers, internal teams, and suppliers to deliver robust design solutions and cost-conscious innovations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field with less than 1 year of experience; preferably 1–2 years.
• Design and develop steering column assemblies and intermediate shafts; support NPDS/APQP activities.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes design inputs to determine feasibility for indented application.
• Applies appropriate standards to designs (customer, internal, federal, and industrial).
• Maintains understanding of in-house, supplier, and customer manufacturing processes to ensure design compatibility.
• Prepares design specifications for each application.
• Conducts design reviews during product development (customer, internal, supplier).
• Issues design documents to support APQP/NPDS activities.
• Coordinates development, sample builds, and validation testing of design.
• Provides design support to customers, suppliers, and in-house departments.
• Generates VA/VE ideas to support cost targets.
