NSK Steering Systems America (NSSA) in Michigan seeks a Product Engineer A/B to design and develop steering column assemblies, intermediate shafts and joints, ensuring manufacturability and cost containment.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4–6 years of related experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes design inputs to determine feasibility for intended application.
• Applies applicable customer, internal, federal, and industrial standards to designs.
• Maintains knowledge of in-house, supplier, and customer manufacturing processes to ensure design compatibility.
• Prepares design specifications for each application.
• Conducts design reviews during product development (customer, internal, supplier).
• Issues appropriate design documents to support APQP or NPDS activities.
• Issues product prints and design changes as appropriate.
• Coordinates required development, sample builds, and validation testing of designs.
• Provides design support to customers, suppliers, and in-house departments.
• Provides VA/VE ideas to support cost targets.
