Job summary

NSK Steering Systems America (NSSA) is seeking a Product Engineer A/B to design and develop steering column assemblies, intermediate shafts, and joints, ensuring manufacturability with input from suppliers and internal processes. This role fully supports the APQP process.

Responsibilities include design documentation, coordination of development activities, and providing VA/VE ideas to meet cost targets. Travel up to 20% is required.

• Understands and applies appropriate customer, internal, federal, and industrial standards to designs.

• Issues appropriate design documents to support program development (APQP or NPDS) activities.
• Issues product prints and design changes as appropriate.
• Coordinates required development, sample builds, and validation testing of designs.
• Provides design support to customers, suppliers, and in-house departments.

The Product Engineer A/B Role

Design and develop steering column assemblies, intermediate shafts and joints to meet customer requirements. Ensure that manufacturability input from supplier and internal processes are considered during the design process. Supports cost containment and reduction initiatives. Supports design issues for customers, internal manufacturing, and suppliers. Fully supports the APQP process. Provides promotional opportunity for personnel who demonstrate competency in the Product Engineer C position.

Qualifications

• This job requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 4 to 6 years of position -related experience; preferably 6 to 8 years of position-related experience.
• This position requires 20% travel.
